“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

I don't even know what the socially correct response to this is...

How do you know that? How do you know literally any other depiction or story about him or any other character in the Bible is correct?
Noah's ark is impossible for instance. Same thing with the whole Egyptians enslaving the people of Israel and many of the supposedly godsent plagues have been explained by completely natural logic and ecological knowledge.

Because the Bible was written by eye witnesses who were actually there

yeah it's hard to believe in an ancient book

People can lie. People can misremember things. And people are very, very prone to attribute supernatural explanations to what they cannot comprehend.
Eyewitness testimony is close to the worst kind of evidence you can get.

what if it was meant to be a fictional story but they forgot to say that in the book

"WOAH! CHATGPT CAME TO LIFE AND WAVED TO ME AND SAID GOOD AFTERNOON, BELIEVE ME I SAW IT WITH MY EYES!"

Im pretty sure the intent was always to manipulate the masses.

It's better than no one witessing it. And eye witness testimony is not as unreliable as you suggest. When you say "cannot comprehend" what are you referring to here?
    • User icon
It's WORSE that no one witnessing anything because it actively spreads misinformation.
Example of a thing they could not comprehend getting a supernatural explanation: The ancient greeks didn't know how thunder worked so they came up with the idea that a god named Ζέυς was responsible for it.

      Who witnessed evolution?
    • User icon
Every modern biologist ever. However that isn't the only evidence available and there's no need to rely on it. There is fossil evidence, genetic evidence, and even simple logic to back it up.

Of all the points attempting to argue against evolution I've ever seen, "Who witnessed evolution?" is certainly one of them
