“Do not be afraid. I bring you good news that will cause great joy for all the people. Today in the town of David a Savior has been born to you; he is the Messiah, the Lord. This will be a sign to you: You will find a baby wrapped in cloths and lying in a manger.”

Kasane Teto loves you too by the way.
    • User icon
I don't even know who that is 😭
    • User icon
      See what I mean, then?
    • User icon
      No
    • User icon
      Love can be one way
    • User icon
What doesn't exist cannot love me. And even if he ever existed he's long dead because people don't come back to life after three days.
    • User icon
Humans can't. God can do a lot of things things that we would consider unnatural. He did create the universe after all
    • User icon
God doesn't exist and that conman was a human just like you and me. You have been indoctrinated by a parasitic faith built upon centuries of lies and manipulation through fear and appeal to emotion.
    • User icon
Thats not a real response. You're just making accusations without even explaining what you are referring to. In what way was he a conman? Raising from the dead seems legit to me. Assuming that it happened of course
    • User icon
      I am referring to:
      - Threat of eternal punishment (hell).
      - Appeal to the innate human need to feel loved (God/Jesus loves you etc.)
      - Lies that the church has told (middle ages, many protestant pastors of the current age)

big bang theorist was a catholic by the way
    • User icon
      - God doesn't want you to go to hell if it makes you feel better
      - God loves everyone equally whether or not you believe in Him
      - this is the equivalent of me saying that atheism is bad because of Stalin or some atheist who happened to be a bad person. Even ones who killed Christians. It's a fallacy
    • User icon
I'm not entirely opposed to the big bang. I just don't think something like that can be caused by nothing
    • User icon
      - God isn't real so what he "wants" is meaningless and there's not even a way to prove what you claim.
      - Again, meaningless.
      - No, it is not. Religion is known for lying, and they obviously lie about much more that you can imagine. Clearly there's no way to ensure that they don't lie about everything.
    • User icon
      - then why do christians threaten atheists saying "repent or go to hell" like they'd actually believe in that too?
      - satan loves everyone equally even if you don't believe in him. so does hatsune miku
      - yes religion doesn't make you bad, it's your actions. but what you said was unrelated and not what eagle was saying though
    • User icon
Well God Himself said so. So there is that. But just leads us back as to whether or not the Bible is reliable.
People are known for lying. Biblical Christianity is actively against lying. You are pointing out the sins of individuals, not the sins of the religion. Which anyone could do for really anything.
    • User icon
      One word: Hypocrisy.
Also, I'm pointing out the sins of the people in charge of the religion, they are not just anyone.
    • User icon
      1. how do you know? 2. wait, if wikipedia existed thousands of years ago and people thought the bible was the best source, would it have been used for sources? 3. hey royalshield, if you lie, a person from italy will swim in the ocean at 30mph nonstop to your house and write "no lying" on your wall
    • User icon
      - I have never seen a Christian say that. And I apologize if someone actually said those words to you. Also, that doesn't really have anything to do with God not wanting you to go to hell
      - I think you are confused. I'm not just making stuff up on the spot. Whenever I make a claim like that, I'm basing what I am saying off of the Bible. This of course raises the question of whether or not the Bible is reliable, but that is a separate topic.
    • User icon
      - nobody's said that to me but they've said it to others
      - do you personally think it is reliable?
    • User icon
      - Explain
      - My point still stands. Humans have the capacity of sinning. And I am very well aware of the terrible actions of religious leaders and I do not support any of that. However, if you want to be technical, the actual leader of Christianity is Jesus.
    • User icon
      Yes
    • User icon
      - who are you asking to explain what?
      - isn't the leader of christianity the guy who wrote the book? why not just find a new leader who's alive like countries do when their leader dies?
    • User icon
      - What do I need to explain? It's impossible to ensure that those witnesses were telling the truth, and even if they were we still have the other two issues with eyewitness testimony.
      - These humans are/were in charge of the religion and whatever claim the religion makes has to go through them to be considered official. If they are corrupt (which they are), then so is the whole cult.
    • User icon
I mean, if they were lying about it, I doubt all of them would have been willing to get tortured and die for it. Even if Jesus isn't God, they at least believed it

"Official" Christianity is not decided by church leaders. It's what is in the Bible, which none of them wrote.

If want to ask me questions, you should message me on discord. It's getting convoluted and mixed up in these comments. I will answer all of your questions to the best of my abilities
    • User icon
Eagle, if you wish to ask me anything else. I will do my best to answer on discord. It's getting hard to keep track of stuff here. (Especially with qxva here too)
    • User icon
      - Not all of them were.
      - Yes it is. The Bible had writings added and removed up until the 15th century. The people in charge of Christianity were the ones who decided what is in its official version.

If only he were anything but some dude that pretended to be divine and then people began inventing stories about him.
    • User icon
Didn't we have this discussion? I thought you lost interest in this topic
    • User icon
I haven't been able to look at discord in several days because of travels. If you texted me, I'll answer it eventually.
