overanalyzing lyrics I

let's analyze this shakespearean MF DOOM line
One for the money

Two for the better green

Three for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine

These bars are a reference to the 1820s English children's rhyme One for the Money (https://w.wiki/DGaF), which is sung as
One for the money,

Two for the show;

Three to make ready,

And four to go.

The first line is preserved; however, the second's last word is replaced with "better green," a euphemism of cannabis. This is punning the generalization of money's color: green. Altogether, this implies the notion that marijuana is worth more than money.

The third line is turned into "Three for Methylenedioxymethamphetamine," taking the places of line four also. "Three for" and "3,4-" are homophones, which makes the chemical name of MDMA, or Molly in slang: "3,4-Methylenedioxymethamphetamine."

These three lines all have an economic connection together. MDMA's minimum estimate price is about double the price of the minimum estimate price of marijuana, forming the mathematical equation: (n - 1) $7 500, with n* being the first word of each repitition.
