It's insane how people stop understanding what it's like being and thinking like a teenager as soon as they stop being one.
Some nursing students (around 20 years old) were recently doing some studies on teen health and behavior at our school, which isn't rare since we're a group of 25 nerds who aren't misbehaving much at all, so we have a good reputation as a cooperative group who researchers won't have too much trouble handling.
The talks they gave on bullying, social media, and drugs were missing the point entirely on what these issues represent for present day teenagers and how we see them.
Maybe it's because the people at my school aren't your average youth, but I still think they would have been taken the same elsewhere. I will acknowledge, though, that there are some really stupid kids out there, but even then it's definitely not the norm.
