its a circular problem of no activity -> no reason to join -> no activity -> no reason to join
You can improve your website designing skills as much as you like, but eventually, few people use the site unless it's already established. i guess you could ask Paradock for advice on starting a site with a userbase. what i know is:
1) creating a community takes time and dedication. it's very slow. lots of users come and go and never post again.
2) advertising on other websites is an effective way to gain users BUT many websites dont like that so be careful!!! users may take it as a personal attack. however, since darflen is still relatively new, advertising here shouldnt be met with much backlash. however, that doesnt guarantee you a community of users.
so tl;dr: growing a community is slower and more difficult than creating a website. keep this in mind. :P
