"Looking at the stars I think how small and insignificant they are, and I'm huge and at the center of the universe" is a fully believable quote from any creationist.

this might be a hot take, and i'm not saying this to stir drama or anything, but i feel like any somewhat-large multi-cellular animal is more valuable than a chemical reaction from like 50 light years away icl

How does this have anything to do with the post?

stars are kind of insignificant, and i do think that people and animals are way more worthwhile and valuable. with that being said, anyone who thinks they're the main guy is a narcissist, and i think atheists and creationists alike can absolutely be narcissists

Our star, Sol, is responsible for all known life in the universe. Without stars there'd be no life. I wouldn't assign more importance to either.

The only reason the Sun matters is BECAUSE it supports all life in the universe. Without that, it would genuinely be as equal as any other stars in the universe. I understand that as an atheist, that morals are subjective, but let me put it this way: would you rather kill someone's cat, or dog, or son, or daughter, or father, or mother, or maybe even the person themself, or would you rather destroy a star that has no impact on us, and will not affect any life-forms or anything.

But the Sun is the the reason there's life on this planet at all. It goes both ways. For all we know, one of the trillions upon trillions of stars out there could be hosting life as well, which would be just as important as any life here on Earth. As for the moral dilemma you presented... It's just completely irrelevant...
