    would it be possible to install custom operating systems on a roku
    sometimes i think about picking up old technology just to slap a linux distro on it and use it for something (evil, likely)

      if i remember correctly a rooted 2nd gen roku can boot from an sd card, but i dont know how to do it and getting a 2nd gen roku that can be rooted is a gamble, especially since these devices heavily pushed updates with no way to avoid them so they wouldve had to have been unused for quite some time
      unfortunately there isnt much information on this stuff that i can find
