Whatever the dictionary says. I'm pretty sure I'm fluent in Spanish and English.
-
You're gonna say something in French, Latin? Sure, I kinda understand those as well.
They're Romances bro.-
Talk to people. Textbook Spanish is like its own dialect, and it's such an idiom heavy language that you probably want to learn a few. -
spanish doesn't really stand out as much as french when it comes to romance languages. French has more character development -
tfym character development bruh
Also Hispanic literature is unmatched and it's not even up for debate. -
it's obvious: spanish just didn't innovate as a language while french did. Long live nasal vowels!!!!! -
It's too complicated for no reason, and the spelling is worse. Also, to me it just sounds jarring.
Meanwhile with Spanish you just pronounce things as they look! -
to me spanish sounds like what a drunk Italian would sound like after shoving 5 fireworks somewhere he shouldn't have
basically because of the stress/rhythm of the language
maybe Spanish has easier spelling but French relatively isn't that bad. The real enemy is English -
About the understanding 70%, you might have an advantage in terms of vocabulary coverage from also knowing English as because of the Norman conquest 40% of the English vocab comes from French
So now you understand the shared vocab with both spanish and English
