as someone who live in one of the snowiest city in the world:
- snow is white when clean and get more brown as it gets dirtier with stuff
- snow can feel as hard as powder and as soft as wet mashed potato
- snow can transform into water slushy and that's just hard water
- snow can transform into a weird ice when black ice rains down
- you can build stuff with it snow when it is not a powder or slushy, just be good in structural engineering
- snow fall from the sky unless someone is making artificial snow
- snow can be very heavy especially when soft
- an huge pile of snow can survive way longer than snow on the ground
- snow is a good heat insulator
- you eat drink clean snow if you're sure it's clean
- snow is water
- you can have fun with snow
- you can hurt people with snow +
- you can probably murder a toddler or any living thing small enough with enough snow
- you need to clear your pathway and driveway when there's snow (unless you pay someone to remove it for you and it can become expensive)
- vehicles can get stuck (look at the tesla cybertruck getting stuck in snow) when there's enough snow
- when snow transform into ice you can think as snow bricks
- snow is cool
- you need to get a good shovel with a metallic edge or else hard snow would be hard to remove
there's probably more facts about snow but nothing else want to come up -
as snow accumulates, it forms a soft, white layer on the ground, covering everything from trees and rooftops to roads and fields. the texture of snow can vary significantly depending on the temperature and humidity. when it's cold and dry, snow is light and powdery, making it easy to shovel and perfect for skiing or snowboarding. this type of snow is often referred to as "powder" and is highly sought after by winter sports enthusiasts.
conversely, when the temperature hovers around freezing, snow can become wet and heavy, clumping together and making it more challenging to move. this wet snow is excellent for packing, allowing for the creation of snowballs and snowmen. the sound of crunching snow underfoot is distinctive; it can be soft and muffled or loud and crisp, depending on the snow's density and the temperature.
snow also has a unique visual quality. it reflects light, creating a bright, almost blinding effect on sunny days. the way it clings to branches and fences creates stunning, picturesque scenes, often leading to breathtaking winter landscapes. at night, the moonlight can make the snow shimmer, casting a magical glow over the surroundings.
in addition to its beauty, snow brings a sense of joy and playfulness. children and adults alike revel in the opportunity to engage in snowball fights, build elaborate snow forts, or go sledding down hills. the thrill of gliding over a snowy surface on skis or a snowboard is exhilarating, and the laughter and excitement that accompany these activities create lasting memories.
however, snow also presents challenges. it can lead to hazardous driving conditions, requiring careful navigation on icy roads. snow removal becomes a necessary task for homeowners and municipalities, as heavy snowfall can disrupt daily life. the weight of accumulated snow can also pose risks to structures, leading to concerns about roof collapses.
