people who use light mode just want to be different there's little to no reason why someone would prefer light mode

  its the other way round. light mode is default on most things, so the people choosing dark mode are the people that want to be different

  I need to stare at a screen for hours, I need to limit the brightness to not have eye less strain
  
  also 2/3 of mobile users use dark mode or a mix of both
  
  I do not want to disturb people sleep so I use dark mode too (I wake up very early)

  the solution of not staring at light? going outside more often :)
  
  but yes, dark mode can make your eye work harder and for some people, do more eye strain than light mode
  
  but the thing is that it's worse for me to use light mode (eye fatigue comes faster with light mode for me)
  
  and I can uh sleep a little bit better If I use my computer before sleep

  both dark mode and light mode have their disadvantages but dark mode certainly minimises eye strain and eye fatigue for me because I often use my decides in a bot so well lit environment
