You are so lucky for having such an amazing fauna 😿😿 where you live... sadly it seems that we don't value our animals enough -
And Costa Rica is the pinnacle of natural conservation in this biome. We try to mitigate the damage to our ecosystem as much as possible, neighbouring countries' authorities don't care at all. Due to several factors, this is the least damage that can be done.

Fauna here is so diverse that constructions can't really not harm any habitats, so instead they take studies to only build in not so diverse areas.
Unfortunately, situations like this are inevitable if we want any buildings over here.
The woods surrounding aren't very unwelcoming, though, so hopefully the armadillo can reassert itself.
