Last night, a skunk came and killed two of our six kittens. It didn't even eat them, it just came, killed one, moved to the next one, killed that one, and started mauling the third before we chased it off. I still don't know why it was doing that, like bro. The mother cat was doing absolutely nothing btw.

    This is so sad...
I'd get the remaining ones some rabies shots. That is really strange behavior.

The only two things that make me mad about this are, 1: The skunk didn't eat them. If it had snatched one away and ran off with it, that wouldn't be as bad. Since for all we know, it may have had babies of it's own to feed. But it didn't. It just killed them just to kill them, which, as you pointed out, is really strange behavior. 2: the momma cat was doing literally nothing about the whole thing, despite her kittens squealing and crying out from literally getting mauled, she was just kind of chilling around.
On a side note, we found that the third victim lost an eye before the skunk was chased off :(

Perhaps the mother was too scared... Hopefully the third one is doing fine and survives the injury

I suppose. To be fair, I say that we "ran it off" but it's not like we saw it and immediately went after it. We had to be more deliberate and careful, because well... It's a skunk.

"I'd get the remaining ones some rabies shots" didn't seem to happen

To expensive. We aren't going to spend a bunch of money on kittens that might die in less than a year from other causes anyway. It would have been a waste
